Grief Advisor Endures Sudden Tragic Death of Soul Mate And Daughter Pens Book: Grief, The Universal Emotion of Loss

Grief, The Universal Emotion of Loss explores the new paradigm of grief and the journey we each take to the self-discovery that lies within us. From Karla's own tragedy of the sudden death of her husband and daughter, when the expert advice, prescriptions and therapy fell short, Karla was inspired to share her vision for moving through the world of grief as a resource and guide for healing all.

In 2003, Karla Kay lost her husband, daughter and her surviving daughter's best friend when the vehicle she was driving had a blow out and rolled out of control. Karla had worked for Hospice since 1994 and supported hundreds of people in their grieving, yet in her search, found little relief from her profound, horrific, sudden losses and the subsequent Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD) that she and her surviving teen daughter struggled with. As she desperately sought relief and healing, Karla recognized the imperative need for a truly emotional, accurate and inspiring book about grief so that others would have a resource for their own healing. Karla Kay has written that book: Grief, The Universal Emotion of Loss.

Through her Grief Advisory efforts, Karla was asked to work with first responders in Arizona, including the DPS, Maricopa County Sheriff's Deputies, fire fighters, police, victims' advocates, and other crisis response agencies both as a volunteer and a trainer in providing support to all who see and experience traumatic events resulting in death.
Grief, The Universal Emotion of Loss is the result of Karla's Grief Advisory work and her own traumatic, sudden losses. It captures immediately how grief comes to us in ways we could never imagine, from any situation of bereavement. Karla elegantly guides us through the journey we take in our grief and the self-discovery that lies hidden within us for profound healing, beyond coping. The New Paradigm of grief, claims Karla, is that the grieving process is fluid and often elusive as she proves that the old standard of the concrete predetermined set of steps to healing are outmoded and don't begin to cover the Clusters and Layers of grief we experience as we seek to heal from losing a loved one, a job, a home or anything else that deeply matters to us.
"Karla has a deep and visceral understanding of grief beyond any scholarly description, claims Paulette Compton, RN, MSN, MC, Program Director Maricopa Nursing-Banner Boswell Mesa, "her wisdom and ability to teach others about coping with grief is a gift to the world as we all struggle with loss in our lives."
Grief, The Universal Emotion of Loss is available from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Balboa Press. Karla Kay is available for speaking engagements, book signings, and TV and Radio interviews.
